TMS Entertainment is further celebrating the 30th anniversary of Detective Conan by releasing the first two episodes of the new Dub that is currently on Netflix as well as releasing several movies via their YouTube channel weekly. The first movie has already been released.
The first two episodes of the series are the foundation setting episodes where Shinichi Kudo with his friend Ran go to an amusement park and after solving a murder mystery, watched two mysterious men in black sneak off and following catches an illicit exchange of money. However by focusing so intently he did not see the other man sneak up behind him and knock him out. Before they leave they slip an experimental poison pill into him that is meant to kill him but instead he turns into a 7 year old kid. Now taking the identity of Conan Edogawa he joins Ran and her father a detective and investigating murders and mysteries while searching the men and their organization and see if he can find a cure.
The movie released this past weekend is Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare. Focusing on the Black Organization that poisoned him, a woman who is from the organization is chased and presumed drowned when her car falls of a bridge and an explosion makes the ones chasing her suspect she did not make it. However she did wash up next to an amusement park that Conan and his friends from elementary school are going to that same day. They run into the woman who is suffering from amnesia and as Conan tries to figure out her identity, while she joins them and enjoys the park. As the mystery is revealed and the chase to discover her and get her to remember who she is, an epic battle of wits between Conan and the others from the Black Organization is waged. Though this movie used a different dub cast than the new dub that the two episodes on YouTube and Netflix are showing. Let’s hope that this renewed interests gets a series order so we can get full dubs of all the episodes and movies.
